Varca beach is what Goa used to be before the arrival of mass tourism, large crowds, noisy parties, and big hotels. It is a 2-kilometer long white sandy beach in south Goa, lined with palm and casuarina trees. There are no large hotels and resorts on the beach. Even the smaller properties, cottages, and villas for rent in Varca are away from the beach. There are some luxury resorts too. Some of the biggest names like Sterling, Zuri, Club Mahindra, and Ramada have their properties here.
A small creek runs parallel to the beach. You will have nature at its best wherever you look. It will be just you, the Arabian Sea, and the trees, which makes Varca one of the best beaches in Goa for a relaxing vacation for nature lovers.
Varca beach is in South Goa, only 15-20 minutes by road from Margao. Another popular Goa beach, Benaulim is 10 minutes away. It is a part of the long coastline that extends from the city of Vasco in the north to Cavelossim in the south. Varca is also one of the cleanest beaches of Goa.
It is serene and peaceful, but you will still find a few beach shacks, restaurants, and shops. There are water sports activities too, but less in number, so your peaceful time on the beach is never disturbed. You won’t find any beach vendors pestering you to look into their products.
