Kakolem is a beach with two waterfalls, which makes it unique as there are no such beaches in India and very few elsewhere in the world where you can see waterfalls on the beach. Kakolem Beach in South Goa is away from the party noises. It’s a secluded paradise, a serene and quiet heaven for nature lovers. A true hidden gem, it is the place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. Kakolem is 7 kilometers south from Cabo de Rama in the north and Cola Beach in the south. Margao, South Goa’s biggest city, is 29 kilometers away. Agonda Beach is the closest popular tourist attraction.
It is also sometimes called Tiger Beach. Many locals claim that it used to be a place to hunt tigers. But this is just a myth, as the beach is surrounded by tall mountains, which is not the usual terrain for tigers. However, there is a thick forest that covers the beach. The forest has many palm trees. The surrounding hills, forest, the small bay, clean water, and serene beach, makes it one of Goa’s most scenic places.
The beach remains deserted as it is not easy to reach this place. You have to take a boat or trek through the hilly and forested terrain. But thankfully, Kakolem has remained such a serene and peaceful place. There are many rocks in the water, so swimming is best avoided.
